Looking at Second life it mostly is an super charged Chat Board or a just a simple game.

On the surface specialy for the "newbie" or an artist its a great place a fun place and a wery Cool place to make friends to create things and make some money.

But the nature of Second Life isent realy so cool or great if you look at it from the Pshycological side and analize it from diffrent angles the most of them turn Ugly pretty soon.

The Insidiousness Starts of in it name Second Life in its self thats what it is a secondary Life for those who can't deal with the first and want to escape it, In Second Life you have to use your First Real Life abilities to operate in Second Life wich would just at the start close the door on several types of fans that would like to participate in it since it isent even user friendly place to begin with.

Also because of the predatory nature of some of the natives in SL the avarage Family person wouldn´t want to exspose his minors to it because of some high risk´s and then there is the stright rules also in the most of Star trek clubs there and closed option of having to stay in Character the whole stay there.

But of course while you stay in SL you are only "kidding yourself" in the glamor and glitter of it and at first its new and exciting (like a brand new video game) you learn how to make your avatar and to move around (the movements can be boring at times) you also learn how to interact and Socialize with the natives.

But of course Kidding yourself is the main appeal of SL in general and is the bread and butter of the whole glitter and the self denial and sacrifice and waste of one's own time into the fanatsy world of SL.

At first it looks like the needs of the real life are not there (like the need for money) and everything is free (its an elaborate illusion NOTHING in life is free) but later on you will be asked to buy things or invest your money into something like the club's (with real money)

to support them in some way.

But SL can turn pretty fast into an obsession if one play's it to much and to long and the need to draw other's in to "make something special" but in reality it becomes a blanket to run to when real life becomes to hard to deal with because of the long term exposure to the Sandbox that SL is for real and SL has consumed your Pshyce wich is the real bread and butter of SL and is the one of the effects one dosn´t notice before its to late or in most cases almost never.

The Native in the end looses the real compasity to deal with real life in an logical adult manner and lacks the capability to do so in the end.

SL becomes the only place the Native "feels truly at home" and becomes like the Holodeck Syndrome in Startrek we all have seen in the TV show Next Gen.

But the difference with SL is that instead of being able to make your own Character's you have to "sucker" in more players and members to be able to live in your fantasy world,

And if you are Charming enough or lucky you can make yourself into a truly a King or Queen or in Startrek terms a Fleet Admiral and become like the true nature of the Piper and the rats.

But the piper has to make sure that all of his subjects never see his/hers true dominatory nature and has to set up "Fair Rules" but wich (of course) sets him or her up as the Dictator for "life" and his "staff".

SL in fact in reality is the place for the weak and the lost souls to go and escape the hardship's and depth's of real life and fly on a large pink cloud and enjoy the "pretty Marsh light's" dancing around the predatory dominator.

Most Natives of SL get lost in it pretty fast and loose the voice of logic and reason and start to use (sometimes at the start) any desperate and all justification to stay ain SL and exspect others to do the same and it can become the main drive in life and those who dont become the "enemy" or the "fiend" out to get them the "demon from nightmares".

For the predator, its a place to be free to dominate the weak that fall into its "trap" and it realy does create an illusion of fairnes and justice so the weaker types dont realy see his/hers true nature that feed's the Beast of his/hers need for Power and Domination where he/she can give the candy and/or promotions to apeace any doupt at any time "but with ...?".

One of the stereo typical stamps we trekkies have been "marked" with is the ignorant way of thinking that we all live in our parents basement's and never or hardly go out side the four walls of the house and NEVER have any physical contact with the oposite sex,

Well with SL that is fast becoming true and one starts to lie to one self that you are actualy interacting with more people than you would in real life and dont need to and you do so happily and "in uniform".

Under normal conditions even we trekkies frown upon those who stay in character and live and wear an Uniform in day to day life,But in SL in all of the clubs there you are exspected to do so and call the people around you "sir" or by their rank and you can hide there and no one will know that you are realy are doing it and are acting out your fanatasy as an officer of the federation and also at the same time excepting the dominatory needs of the "top brass" that has been insured by the actual Benefactor and dictator some degree of his/hers power and you can never hope to because of that even question or critisise and neither get the chance to raise your opinion or voice in that effect to change anything unnless you are amongst the "specialy Trusted and devoted smurfs".

Some Startrek Clubs in SL have a real life function's outside of SL but then again mostly only truly and fully operate in SL (of course) so the illusion continues there on the outside also and you are told that you "realy dont have to join SL to be a part of it BUT" this of course is just another trap to sucker you into SL and become a puppet of the Master and eventualy fall into His trap and become a part of his almost mindless legion of servants and portector (wich he uses as an back up when he is rendered incabable to attack any one that disagrees with him) and most of the time these attacks are done on all that seem weak and defenceless and done in a most Fanatical insane pshycotic manner with threats and stamping of feet if it dosent work like a baby shaking its rattle at the offender who took away its bottle of milk or is trying to do so.

But the true beneficial usefullnes of SL like the Startrek's Holodeck dispear in this in the same manner with this over use of it,

But of course it's a HARD PILL to swallow to have to take a look at one self and most of us never do and avoid it as hard as possible often by pointing at some one elses problem or find an enemy to fight to distract us from the actual problem and seriousness of the situation.

Then there is the allmost anonymous nature and the Physical perfection in SL,

You can never know who the person in front of you realy is or if the man in front of you realy is a man or the woman you are looking at is a real woman in real life (or is a sweaty old man in China) and the wall SL provides is perfect in it self no bad breath no sicknes No one gets hurt (physicly) and you can skip and play like the Happy go lucky Elf in the forest where the soap bubbles are slowly blowing around on the gentle breze and you never grow hungry and can stay Happy forever.

But you can bet off your behind that the company that created the SL and the eventualy the pshycologist that you will need to go to are not spending your hard earn'd money in playin in second life neither the PABA Smurf who is the leader's of the groups are spending it there when you buy their emblems or faces on their T-Shirts with real money

.

In making this article we are a few of us that are actual hard core players in SL and several are amongst the "top Brass" in some of the Club's in SL and have been for a long time so this article is made by many and edited by us all and its not that any of us are SL haters or anything but before one does something it is always good to know what one is geting himself/herself into ahead of doing it "a fair warning" it also serves to prove that the illusion of the perfection of it that you never can realy tell who is in front of you there or neither can you tell who it realy is specialy when you can do something creative (LOL) so it is truly a fun place to be in.
